municipal police officers responded as first responders and secured the scene, while agents from the Ministerial Criminal Investigation Agency (AMIC) and forensic personnel processed the location and arranged for the body to be transferred to the Forensic Medical Service for the required autopsy.
The Public Ministry reported that initial investigations established that the victim knew his attacker, as he allowed him to enter the residence and even interacted with him before the attack.
As part of the investigation, researchers are analyzing surveillance camera footage and reviewing the priest's belongings to determine whether the crime was related to the theft of money or valuables.
The state agency noted that a solid line of investigation has been consolidated regarding the identity of the probable perpetrator, so ministerial agents are maintaining an operation to locate and capture him.
Additionally, interviews are being conducted with the victim's family and with the person who provided him assistance, with the purpose of strengthening the investigation lines and fully clarifying the facts.
